You know how good music feels,
You can’t sit still.
It feels
Like falling,
Bungee jumping without the rope
Into a hot spring,
Into a geyser
Like one you remember
Five miles outside Reykjavik
Like riding the searing water to the sky
And floating back to the ice.
It’s like you have to have sex RIGHT NOW,
You can’t sit still,
You have to stand or rock or tap or snap.
You get into the aisle and dance.

Yes, there was dancing in the aisles of the Bridgewater Hall
People rushed the stage at the Bridgewater Hall
To give back
The gift,

A wave flowed toward the stage
Like flight.
The musicians took it,
They hung it in the air
Where it glowed like new glass
While they cut and blew and twisted it into
Fantastical shapes:
Seahorses in the Kalahari,
Unicorns from the veldt.
They made it glow
Like celestial Blackpool rock,

And that was just the beginning of Cultureshock.
